Ms. Della Weedon

Della Mae (Skeeta Bowie) Weedon, 63, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, after a lengthy illness at Northampton Nursing Home in Frederick where she resided. Born Dec. 4, 1944 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Spencer C. and Marian West Bowie .
A graduate of Lincoln High School, she was an avid bingo player, loving mother and nanny, and loyal friend.
She leaves to cherish her memory to two devoted daughters, Theresa Lynn Weedon of York, Pa. and Elder Nicole Renee Weedon of Baltimore. She was the grandmother of six, Jerrell, E. Shontaye, Najah, Charles "Fritz," Brandon and Tavon, and the great-grandmother of five, Quondaisha, Qutez, Madaisha, Omar Jr., and Quasia. She is also survived by four siblings, Mary Hopkins of York, Pa., Katherine Powell of Frederick, Margo Foreman and husband, Bobby of Frederick and Spencer Bowie of Frederick; one sister-in-law, Joann Bowie of Frederick. She also leaves to cherish a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Bowie and one sister-in-law, Patricia Bowie.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home, 110 W. South St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, with visitation one hour prior to services. Rev. C. Michelle Langston and Rev. Marvin Denson Jr. will officiate.
