Mr. Charles Bowie
Charles Melvin Bowie, son of the late Emory and Bernadine Bowie, was born October 14, 1944. He departed this life after a brief illness September 13, 2005 at the age of 60. He graduated from high school in 1962. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and always willing to help anyone in need. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He was employed in the City of Frederick at the Community Action Center, and also worked for the Amvets Post #5 Frederick, Md. He leaves to cherish his memory two brother, Ronald Bowie and wife Marylee of Washington, D.C.,, Richard Hall and wife Jennifer of Frederick, Md.; aunts and uncles, Charles Wars, Sr. and wife Edith of Frederick, Md., Hattie Wars of Frederick and Hubert Gray of Waldorf, Md.; two god-daughters Kianna Love and Summer Love and fiance Terrance Jackson Sr. and nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Emory, William (Larry), Robert (Muff), and Thirston (Butch) Bowie and a devoted friend, Adele Fredericks Love. Public viewing Sunday, September 18, 2005 from 2-6 p.m. at Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday Sept. 19 with funeral service immediately following. Pastor Luke J. Robinson will officiated. Interment Bartonsville Cemetery.
