Mr. Reginald 'Reggie' Bowie

Reginald S. "Reggie" Bowie, 57, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, from the York Hospital, with his loving wife by his side. He was the husband of Crystal D. (Hughes) Bowie, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage.
Born April 17 , 1951 in Frederick, he was the son of Catherine (Bowie) Powell of Frederick and the late James Herbert Bell.
Mr. Bowie was employed as a cook at Bubba's Breakaway prior to his illness. He also did janitorial work at the York Fair.
He belonged to Van Fest.
Reginald leaves to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife and mother, five sons, Reginald Robinson of Virginia Beach, Va., Dion Bowie, Tyree Bowie, Tavares Outen, and Duvall Hughes, all of York, Pa.; six daughters, Treva Bowie of Greensboro, N.C., Matosha Bowie of York, Tamara Bowie of Hagerstown, Tyra, Damesheia Hughes, and Crysta Bowie, all of York, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Jesenia Ann Torres of York, Pa.; 27 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four sisters, Doris Smith of Hagerstown, Deserie Dulworth of Ft. Meade, Vivian Williams, and Kathy Williams of Frederick, Harry Williams of Frederick and Harold Williams of York, Pa.; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Terrell Hughes and Donald Mayo III.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Open Door Christian Fellowship Church, 155 S. Hartley St., York, Pa.
The funeral service will be private. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial gardens. Pastor Jamison will officiate.
